The Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE is conducting the All India Pre-Medical Test or AIPMT for admission to 15% of medical and dental seats in offering colleges. It is one of the most attempted exams by students all over the country.

For eligibility the applying candidate is required to have completed 17 years of age by 31^st December, 2010. The candidate should also be an Indian National and he or she is allowed only to participate only 3 times. Candidates of Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh are not allowed to participate.

The exam has 2 phases viz. the Preliminary and the Mains. Preliminary is tough and requires lot of preparation. To appear for the mains it is essential to clear the Preliminary exam.

The applying candidates can apply online from 20.10.2009 to 27.11.2009. Candidates can pay through credit card or demand draft for Rs.800/- (for General and OBC) and Rs.450/- (for SC/ST candidates). The demand draft should be taken in favor of ‘The Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education’ payable at Delhi.

Applications can also be obtained through post by sending a demand draft for Rs.850/- (for General and OBC) and Rs.450/- (for the SC/ST candidates) in favor of ‘The Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education’ payable at Delhi along with a self addressed envelope of size 12” * 10”.

Application sales started from 20^th October, 2009 and the last date for submission was on 4^th December, 2009. Preliminary exam was over on 3^rd April, 2010 and the Mains exam will be conducted on 16^th May, 2010. The Preliminary exam results will be declared in the 3^rd week of April, 2010 and the Mains result will be declared in the 1^st week of June, 2010.
