Works to be performed by Aircrafts maintenance engineers:

Regular and thorough inspection of the parts of airplane and other works like ancillary fittings, aircraft frame, engine and electrical systems are to be seen by the aircraft maintenance engineers and mechanics. In broad sense, two types of works namely overhaul maintenance and line maintenance is to done by airplane mechanics. Aircrafts maintenance engineers have to bear a lot of responsibility on their shoulders as a single mistake of them will take the life of many people in danger. Thus, the job of airplane maintenance engineers is of high liability. Flight engineers also assist them in case if they have any problem.

How to become Aircrafts maintenance engineers and its training:

· Aircrafts maintenance engineers should have :

1. Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Engineering along with work experience of two years.

2. Diploma in Engineering Airmen from the Indian Air Force along with senior secondary qualification and also experience of functioning on frames, aircraft engines, electronic and electrical equipment.

· The training of maintaining complete safety of the plane is given to Aircrafts mechanics. This course longs for 3 years and 6 months. Training related to Avionics and Mechanical maintenance is provided. Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) recognized this course.

· Training related significant points:

1. First of all, candidate should be of at least 20 years. The candidate should have cleared 12^th class with PCM as compulsory subjects and minimum marks obtained must be 60% or the candidate should have passed graduation in Science with 55% aggregate marks.

2. Overall eighteen subjects are covered for training purpose.
