Annamalai University is one of the oldest universities in India, established in 1928. Annamalai University is conducting the All India Medical Entrance Exam or the AU – AIMEE 2010 Medical for admission into several medical, dental and paramedical courses like the MBBS, BDS, BPT, BSc (Nursing) and B.Pharm. The exam is conducted in Tamil Nadu in various locations and also in other divisions of the country. The exam will be tough for the MBBS course.

For eligibility, the applying candidate is required to have passed 12^th standard or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

The candidate is required to request by post sending a requisition letter along with a demand draft for Rs.300/- in favor of ‘The Registrar, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar, 608 002. Applications can also obtain the application forms from the admission office directly.

The exam will be conducted in two parts. Paper I will have questions on Botany and Zoology while Paper II will deal with Physics and Chemistry. Questions will appear only from the text books prescribed for the second year of Higher Secondary course. Besides the exam, the candidates are required to take an interview for admission.

Application forms were made available from the month of March. 2010 and the sale will continue til April 1^st week, 2010. The last date for receipt of completed application forms will be in the 2^nd week of April, 2010. The entrance exam will be conducted in the 1^st week of May, 2010.

The 12^th standard marks carry 200 marks and the entrance exam carries 100 marks. Interview will be for 30 marks. Based on the marks obtained the candidate will be admitted into the course.
