Banaras Hindu University or BHU conducts an All India written Entrance test for admission into various medical courses. The candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit obtained in this Entrance test. For MBBS, they will also have to appear in the Mains examination which is held at Varanasi center only.

Available Courses:

The following are the courses available with BHU:

· Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS)

· Bachelor in Pharmacy (B. Pharm.)

· Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS)

· B. Pharm.(Ay.) and

· Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Eligibility criteria:

The candidates who have cleared their 10+2 exam with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and have scored minimum of 50% as aggregate in these subjects are eligible to apply. For SC/ST, the conditions remain same lest they have scored minimum of 40% of marks. Candidate must have completed 17 years of age as on 31st Dec of the year in which he/she is taking the exam but should not have exceeded 25 years. Candidates currently appearing in their 10+2 exam are also eligible to apply for the exam.

Examination Pattern:

The entrance exam is basically held for admission to all the above mentioned courses viz. MBBS / BDS / BAMS / B. Pharm. / B. Pharm. (Ay.) but this Screening test is only applicable for the courses other than MBBS. For MBBS, the candidate also has to appear in the Mains examination which would be held for the students who are short-listed from the Screening test.
