CEED stands for Common Entrance Examination for Design. If you want to pursue a career in design in IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur and IISc Bangalore then you need to qualify the CEED exam. The exam is basically a pass to the Masters degree in design in the above mentioned prestigious institutes. Moreover in some instances candidates are required to take this CEED for admissions in to the Doctoral studies too in some of the above mentioned institutes. The Masters level course is known as M.Des or Master of Design.

In order to become eligible to take part in the entrance examination you need to possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. The branches include Engineering or Architecture or Design or Interior Design. Then the candidates are required to have completed their Professional Diploma in Design from either NID or CEPT or an equivalent degree. But if you have done B.F.A. after your 10+2 studies then too you’re eligible to appear in the examination. Alternatively, candidates with G.D. Art degree after class 10 with a year of professional experience are also eligible to apply for the courses. But if you have not done any of these but have a Masters degree in any Arts or Science programme or Computer Applications then too you’re eligible to appear in the entrance exam.
