Coast Guard Assistant Commandant (Technical) exam is conducted for the students who aspire to spend their life in the service of the nation. The exam is conducted for Engineering/ Technology graduates for the post of class I gazette officer as Assistant Commandant (Technical). The exam is usually conducted twice in a year viz. in month of January and July.

Eligibility criteria:

1. The nationality of the candidate applying must be Indian.
2. The age of the candidate should lie between 21 ? 30 years.
3. Candidate must possess certificate of Competency as I Class Engineer recognized by the Government.
4. Candidate must have passed Sections ?A? and ?B? of Institute of Engineers (India) examination in any of the disciplines.
5. The candidate must have obtained Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or technology from a recognized University.
6. The degree obtained must be in any of the following disciplines:

• Naval Architecture
• Mechanical Engineering
• Marine Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Telecommunication Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• Design Engineering
• Production Engineering
• Aeronautical Engineering
• Control Engineering

Physical Requirements:

• The height of the candidate must be greater than 156cm.
• The weight of the candidate must be proportionate to the height.
• The chest must possess a minimum expansion of 5cm.
• Candidate should possess a vision of 6/12 (good eye) and 6/36 (bad eye).

Selection Criteria:

• All the eligible candidates must appear in the Entrance Exam.
• The candidates will be short-listed on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the Entrance Exam
• The short-listed students will then have to appear for interview which would be conducted by the Preliminary/Final Selection Board.
• The final selection list will be declared after the commencement of the Interview completes.
