Coast Guard Naviks Examination 2009
Coast Guard Naviks Examination is conducted by the Government of India for the recruitment of candidates in the General Duty and Domestic Branch of Indian Coast Guard. The exam is conducted for the citizens of India usually twice in a year, viz. once in the month of March/ April and then in the month of November/ December.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The nationality of the candidate should be an Indian.
- The age of the candidate must lie between 17 ? 22 years.
- The candidates under reserved category (SC/ST) are offered 5% relaxation in the age required.
- The one applying for General Duty (GD) Branch must have obtained a Bachelor?s degree from a recognized University.
- The one applying for Domestic Branch (DB) must have done 8th level education.
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate must have a height of 157cm
- The candidate must possess a chest with minimum expansion of 5cm.
- The weight of the candidate must be in proportion with the height.
- If the candidate is applying for General Duty (GD), they must possess a vision of 6/6 (good eye) and 6/9 (bad eye).
- If the candidate is applying for Domestic Branch (DB), they must possess a vision of 6/18 (good eye) and 6/36 (bad eye).
Selection Criteria:
- All the eligible candidates must appear in the Entrance Exam.
- The candidates will be short-listed on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the Entrance Exam
- The short-listed students will then have to appear for interview which would be conducted by the Preliminary/Final Selection Board.
- The final selection list will be declared after the commencement of the Interview completes.
