Coast Guard Yantriks (Technical Sailors) entrance exam is conducted for the citizens of India who aspire to serve the nation in the post of Yantriks (Technical Sailors). The exam is conducted by Government of India usually twice in a year viz. in month of January/February and in month of July.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. The age of the candidate applying must be less than 23 years.
2. The candidates under reserved category (SC/ST) are offered 5% relaxation in the age required.
3. The candidate must have cleared 10+2 from a recognized board.
4. The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks as aggregate in the final examinations.
5. The candidate should also have done diploma for a recognized University.
6. The candidate must have done diploma in any of the following with aggregate of 50% marks:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• Aeronautical Engineering

Physical Requirements:

• The candidate must have a height if 157cm (plus minus 2-4cm in some cases)
• The candidate must possess a chest with minimum expansion of 5cm.
• Candidate should possess a vision of 6/12 (good eye) and 6/24 (bad eye).
• The weight of the candidate must be in proportion with the height.

Selection Criteria:

• All the eligible candidates must appear in the Entrance Exam.
• The candidates will be short-listed on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the Entrance Exam
• The short-listed students will then have to appear for interview which would be conducted by the Preliminary/Final Selection Board.
• The final selection list will be declared after the commencement of the Interview completes.
