The Indian coast guard has invited applications from the male Indian nationals for recruitment to the post of Naviks (General Duty), Yantriks and Naviks (Domestic Branch). The Indian Coast Guard is an Armed force of the Union.

The posts are:

• Yantrik
• Navik (General Duty)
• Domestic Branch (cook and steward)

Educational qualifications:

• The required educational qualification for the post of Yantrik is matriculation with three years Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering recognized by the AICTE.
• The required educational qualification for the post of Navik (General Duty) is 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics from an education board recognized by the state or central government.
• The required educational qualification for the post of Domestic Branch (cook and steward) is matriculation.

The selection procedure:

Firstly a written test will be carried out for all the candidates who fulfil the educational qualifications. Then the passed out candidates from the written test will be scanned by an interview. Upon the qualifying of the interview a candidate will be subjected to a physical fitness test. The candidates passing through the physical fitness test will need to undergo a medical examination.

The last date of receipt of applications for the above mentioned posts is 8^th February, 2010. But for the candidates belonging to the areas Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, Lakshadweep and Kavarathi islands and Andaman and Nicobar the last date of submission of application form by post is 15^th February, 2010.
