GATE 2009 or The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an all india level examination conducted for admission to the post graduate courses in engineering. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2009 is conducted for admission into the most prestigious institutes in india which are the IITs. The examination will be conducted on 08th February 2009 under the supervision of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, designated as the Organizing Institute for GATE 2009.

Eligibility criteria:
1. candidates with Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy can apply for the examination
2. Or the candidates with Master degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications can also apply
3. All the qualifications held by the candidates must be recognized by UPSC/AICTE.

1. 22 Sept 2008 — sale of application forms
2. 29 Oct 2008 — Last date of issue and submission of application forms at GATE office counters
3. 08th February 2009 — Date of the GATE 2009 examination
4. 15 Mar 2009 — Announcement of GATE 2009 results
