Himachal Pradesh Combined Management Aptitude Test is conducted for the students who aspire to take admission to Management course. The merit obtained in the Aptitude test is valid for admission to various college and institutions of Himachal Pradesh. No separate test is conducted by individual colleges for admission in MBA course in Himachal Pradesh. The exam is usually conducted in the month of June at various places like Shimla, Solan, Dharmshala, Chandigarh and Delhi.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate who has a pass bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized University.
  • The candidate should have got a minimum of 50% aggregate in the bachelor’s course. The candidates under reserved category (SC/ST) should have a minimum of 45% aggregate.
  • The maximum age of the candidate as on 1st Jul, 2009 should not be greater than 26 years.
  • The candidates belonging to SC/ST category has been given relaxation. The maximum age limit for these candidates is 29 years.
  • The students who are currently in their final year of bachelor’s course are also eligible to apply lest they fulfill all other conditions stated above.

Admission Procedure:

  • The admission of the student will be done on the basis of the merit obtained in the Aptitude test.
  • The students short-listed will be then called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
  • The final selection will be made on the collective performance of the student in the written test, GD and PI.

Important Dates:

  • Last date for the receipt of the application forms : End of May, 2009
  • Commencement of HP CMAT : Mid of June, 2009

Examination Pattern and Syllabus:

  1. Their will be four sections in the aptitude test.
  2. Each section will have approximately 50 questions.
  3. The questions will be asked from:
  • English Comprehension
  • Reasoning
  • Business Environment
  • Arithmetic Comprehension & Data Interpretation.

Institutes in which admission can be sought through HP CMAT:

  • MBA Programme of IMS, HP University, Summerhill, Shimla
  • MBA (Agribusiness) programme of Dr. YS Parmar University, Nauni, Solan
  • MBA Programme of other Private Institutions affiliated to HP University
