Indian Air Force invites all the students who are interested in taking admission in SSC Course for Helicopter Pilots in Flying Branch. To provide best candidates to the nation for welfare of the society, the scheme has been undertaken by the Government of India itself. The duration of the course is 72 weeks and admission is purely done on the basis of the merit obtained by the candidate in the Entrance exam which will be conducted in Jan/ Feb, 2009.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The candidate must have obtained a Bachelor?s degree in any of the following:

1. BSc {Physics/Maths) - 3 years
2. BE - 4 years
3. BSc (General) - 3 years with Physics and Maths

• The age of the candidate must be between 19 ? 23 years.
• If the candidate has appeared in INS-B/PAB Test earlier, he/she must not have failed there.
• The candidate must have not been suspended in Flying Training earlier.
• The candidates wearing glasses on a regular basis or having color/night blindness are not eligible to apply.

Physical Requirements:

For Male candidates:

• The minimum height of the candidate must be 162.5cm
• The candidate must have a leg length in between 99 and 128cm (both the values included)
• The candidate must not have a fully expanded chest of more than 82cm with 5cm of expansion.

For Female candidates:

• The minimum height of the candidate must be 162.5cm
• The candidate must have a leg length in between 99 and 120cm (both the values included)

Admission Procedure:

1. All the eligible candidates must appear in the Pilot Aptitude Battery (PAB) Test
2. The candidates will be short-listed on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the PAB Test.
3. The short-listed candidates will then have to go for the following:

• Intelligence Test
• Psychological Test
• Group Tests
• Interview

After the above mentioned process, the candidate has to go for medical examination for checking physical fitness.
