IGNOU OPENMAT 2010 MBA



Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) conducts OPENMAT for admission to its various Post-Graduate Management Programs. IGNOU was established by the Indira Gandhi National Open University Act in 1985 to offer higher education through distant and open means so that it reaches a large number of students both India and abroad. The IGNOU programs are UGC recognized and Association of Indian Universities (AIU) approved.

IGNOU programs are also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). IGNOU hosts nearly 1.4 million students in India. For admission into MBA, Diploma and other Post Graduate Diploma in Management Programs, the student has to pass through OPENMAT. It is conducted twice a year, in February and in August.

The Management programs offered by IGNOU are Master of Business Administration (MBA), Diploma in Management (DIM), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM), Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM), Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM), Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM), and Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM).

For eligibility the candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of supervisory/managerial/professional experience, Professional Degree in Engineering/Technology/Medicine/Architecture/Law/Pharmacy, Professional Qualifications in Accountancy/Cost and Works Accountancy/Company Secretaryship, etc. For Diploma in Management (DIM) non-graduates with 6 years of Managerial/supervisory/professional experience are also eligible.

Application forms can be obtained from IGNOU, New Delhi and from all Reginal Centers, Study Centers and IGNOUARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE and ASSAM RIFLES recognized Regional Centers. It can also be obtained from the IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in/

Application forms were available from October, 2009 and the date of examination was on 7th February, 2010.
