Indian Navy SSC 2009



Indian Navy SSC (Technical)(Electrical/Engineering Branch) (Including Submarine Cadre) invites applications from all the candidates who are interested for recruitment in Short Service Commission in the Electrical and Engineering Branch of the Navy. The invitation is for only unmarried Indian male candidates who will have to go for an Entrance Exam which is usually conducted twice in a year viz. in month of January and month of July.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The candidate must have done Bachelor?s in Engineering or Bachelor?s in Technology from a recognized University.
  2. The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks as aggregate in the degree examinations.
  3. The age of the candidate must lie between 19 ? 25 years.
  4. The candidate should have done engineering in any of the following:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
  • Control Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering

Physical Requirements:

  • The height of the male candidate applying should not be less than 157cm and for female candidates must not be less than 148cm.
  • Visual Standards: 6/36, 6/36 (correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses).
  • The height of the candidate must be in accordance to the weight.

Selection Criteria:

  • The short-listed candidates will be called for Selection Board Interview which will commence for nearly five days.
  • The candidates passing this test will then have to go for:
  1. Psychological Tests
  2. Individual Tasks
  3. Group Tasks
  4. Group Discussion and Interview
  • The final selected candidates will then have to appear in medical fitness test.
  • Candidates who are recommended for submarine cadre will undergo a special Medical Examination at Mumbai and Visahkapatnam.
