MAH CET 2010 MCA



The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra has conducted a Common Entrance Test for admission into Master of Computer Applications course offered by the Government, University Managed and Unaided Institutes of Maharashtra. All Indian national students are allowed to compete. Non resident of Maharashtra can apply through AIMCET merit.

There are 113 institutes of different universities in Maharashtra which admits students based on MAH – CET scores. The total offer of seats by all these universities would be around 25 to 60 seats.

For eligibility the applying candidate should have a valid bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for the Maharashtra Backward Classes). Final year graduates also can apply.

Application kit for MAH – CET was released in the month of February in selected post offices across Maharashtra and also in Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Delhi. After buying the kit the applicant has to apply online at www.dte.org.in/mca/

Application forms were made available from 8th to 19th of February, 2010 and the entrance exam was conducted on 7th March, 2010.

The exam had 2 parts each of 1 hour duration. Part A assessed the General Aptitude and Part B assessed the computer awareness. General Aptitude Paper will consist of Questions from logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, high school mathematics, vocabulary, English comprehension and verbal ability. For every wrong answer there was a negative marking of 1/4th of marks.
