The Maharashtra Post Graduate Medical and Post Graduate Dental Common Entrance Test or the PGM PGD CET is conducted by the Maharashtra Government. Maharashtra University offers Medical post graduate courses like the MD/ MS/ Diploma and post graduate dental courses like the MDS for the aspiring candidates and the selection is done through this common entrance exam.

The participating colleges are Grant Medical College, Byculla, Mumbai, B.J. Medical College, Pune, Dr. V.M. Medical College, Solapur, Government Medical College, Miraj, Shri Bhausaheb Hire Govt. Medical College, Dhule, R.C.S.M. Government Medical College, Kolhapur, Government Medical College, Nagpur, Shri Vasantrao Naik Govt. Medical College, Yavatmal, Govt. Medical College, Akola, Government Medical College, Aurangabad, Government Medical College, Nanded, Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Medical College, Ambajogai, Distt. Beed and Government Medical College, Latur.

Only Indian Nationals are allowed to compete and those candidates, who have completed their final MBBS exam before 31^st of March, 2010 are also eligible for the exam. Other state candidates can also apply. Candidates with MBBS degree from deemed universities are not eligible for both medical and dental disciplines.

The cost of application form along with examination fees would be Rs.1800/- payable by demand draft or pay order drawn in favor of ‘Director, Medical education and research, Mumbai,’ payable at Mumbai from any nationalized scheduled bank. Application forms were made available from 18^th December, 2009 to 2^nd January, 2010. Filled application forms were received till 2^nd January, 2010. Application forms sent via post were not entertained. Exam was conducted on 24^th January, 2010.
