NIFT 2010



National Institute of Fashion Technology or NIFT is one of the apex institutes for design management and technology. It is set by the Ministry of textiles, Indian Government in the year 1986. It is a well suited institute to the students who aspire to excel in the field of fashion technology, marketing and research. NIFT has 12 centers all over India and admission is only through NIFT entrance.

For Bachelors degree the candidate is required to possess a 12th pass from a recognized board. Diploma candidates with 3 or 4 years courses with AICTE recognition or State Board of Technical Education recognition can also apply. For B.F.Tech (Apparel Production) the candidate is required to have studied PCM at 12th standard. For the Masters degree, B.Tech or BE in Textiles/ Apparel/ Mechanical/ Industrial/ Production/ Electronics/ Computer/ Information Technology is required.

Bachelor programs (B.Des) are offered in the field of Accessory Design, Knitwear Design, Apparel Production, Fashion Design, Communication Design, Textile Design and Leather Design. B.F.Tech course in Apparel Production is also offered. Masters programs in M.Des, M.F.M, M.F.Tech, etc are also provided.

Application forms will be made available in the month of November in selected Axis bank branches. It can also be obtained through post by sending a request along with a demand draft in favor of NIFT, New Delhi. The candidates can also apply on the link http://specialtest.in/nift2010/

Application forms were dispersed from 20th November to 5th January, 2010 and the written exam was held on 21st February, 2010. The situation test/GD/Interviews were to be held during the months April to May, 2010. Final results will be displayed in the middle of June, 2010.
