NIT 2010 B.TECH



National Institute of Technology or NIT is one of the most sought after institutes in the country for all the engineering aspirants. They were previously called as Regional Engineering Colleges. It is compulsory for a candidate to take AIEEE to get selected in NITs. There are regional NITs like NIT Rourkela, NIT Calicut, NIT Warangal,NIT Karnataka, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Tiruchirappalli and NIT Kurukshetra and admission into all these colleges will be conducted based on AIEEE exam only. No separate entrance exams for each college.

The courses offered are Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Production Engineering.

Application forms will be sold in the 1st week of December, 2009 to middle of January, 2010. Last date of submission of forms would be in the middle of January, 2010. The AIEEE will be conducted on 25th of April, 2010. These are tentative dates and the finalized dates will be available in the official website for NITs.

Application forms for AIEEE can also be downloaded from the official website for CBSE or AIEEE or it can be collected from selected branches of Syndicate bank. The cost of the application would be Rs.450/- for general category students and Rs.225/- for the OBC and SC/ST candidates.
