NMI 2010



The NMI or National Museum Institute of University of History of Art, Conservation and Museology (NMIHACM) is a deemed university and it falls under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. It is located in National Museum, New Delhi. The university provides specialized courses in History of Art, Conservation and Restoration of art works, Museology to the aspiring students to the award of MA and PhD programmes. The NMI also provides 8 merit scholarships of Rs.40000 each per annum and 8 merit cum means scholarship of Rs.12000 each per annum to the appropriate candidates.

For the MA degree, the candidates should possess a graduation degree from a recognized university in the relevant field and for the PhD programme, the candidate should have completed a masters degree in the relevant field again from a recognized university.

The application form for applying to the courses can be downloaded from the official website of NMI i.e. www.nmi.gov.in/ The last date for applying for the MA and PhD courses would be around the last week of June, 2010 and the tentative date of written test for the MA courses would be around the 1st week of July, 2010. Date of interview for the same courses would be on the next date of written test. For the PhD courses, the last date of presentation of proposed research would be around the 1st week of July, 2010.
