NTSE 2010



National Talent Search Examination is conducted by NCERT for making an advanced search regarding talented students and had an aim to nurture their talent. This scheme broadly covers the areas like Science, Social Science, Medicine, Management, Engineering and Law. This examination was started in order to provide financial assistance to students with caliber in form of monthly scholarships. Nearly about 1000 students are selected for awarding this academic scholarship of Rs. 500 up to Post Graduation.

National Talent Search Examination works as an incentive to talented students. It was started by NCERT in 1963 and since then it was conducted every year.

NTSE Application Form:

Application form for NTSE can be procured from the State/UT Liaison Officer. Also, the application form can be downloaded from the website of NCERT www.ncert.nic.in. But, all the correspondence relevant to application form is under the State Liaison Officers (LOs).

Application form must be signed by the Principal of school.

Scholarships reserved for:

  • SC category students : 15%
  • ST category students : 7.5%
  • PWD category students : 3%

Paper Pattern:

The entire test process consists of written test and interview too. There are two sections in written test – Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT). And those students who clarify the written test have to appear for an interview.

Eligibility Criteria:

All the students who are studying in VIII class of recognized school are eligible for this NTSE.

Important dates relevant to NTSE:

  • Last date of submission of application form: 30th August 2009
  • Examination date (Stage I) : 7th / 8th November, 2009
  • Examination date (Stage II): 9th May, 2010.
