OBC Probationary Officer Exam 2009



Oriental Bank of Commerce is conducting entrance exam for the candidates who are interested to take jobs in bank. It is offering a total of 300 bank probationary officer post for which the mode of selection is written test. All the eligible candidates must apply for the same as soon as possible as there is no other means of getting recruited for the post.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The minimum allowable age is 21 years.
  • The maximum age of the candidate should not exceed 30 years.
  • The candidate must have passed their graduation from a recognized University.
  • The candidates who have passed their Bachelor?s in science must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks as aggregate.
  • The candidates who have passed their Bachelor?s in any other streams must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks as aggregate.
  • The candidate falling under reserved category must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks as aggregate if belongs to science stream and 50% marks if belongs to any other stream.
  • The candidates who possess additional qualifications as MBA, CA, CFA , MCA will be given preference.
  • The candidate should be Computer Literate and must possess basic knowledge about the computer like MS-Office, sending and receiving E-mails, using Internet, etc.

Important Dates:

  • Online submission of Application form starts : 10th Oct, 2008
  • Last date for the receipt of completely filled Application forms : 3rd Nov, 2008

Selection Procedure:

  • All the eligible candidates have to appear in the written test which will be followed by Descriptive test.
  • The selection will be based purely on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the above two tests.

Examination Pattern:

Written Objective Test:

  • Their will be total of 225 questions in this part.
  • The duration of this test is 135 minutes.
  • The medium of the exam will be both English and Hindi.
  • The cut-off marks determined in each test subjects to minimum of 40% marks (35% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PC category)
  • The questions will be asked from:
  1. General Awareness ? 50 questions
  2. English - 50 questions
  3. Quantitative Aptitude - 50 questions
  4. Reasoning - 75 questions

Descriptive Test:

  • This test consists of total 4 questions in which any 3 are to be attempted.
  • The duration of this test is 45 minutes.
  • This part is of 60 marks (each question 20 marks)
  • The minimum passing marks would be 40% for General Category candidates and 35% for SC, ST, OBC and PC candidates.

    im in pursuing b.e final year in electronics and communication. i will be over with my 8th sem xms till june.. i want to know whether i can apply for the jobs of bank p.o…as still there is time for some of them to fill up the forms…plz provide me with the proper guidance….
