The Balaji Technical Education Society (BTES) has initiated the Panchakula Engineering College as a non-profit endeavor to deliver quality technical education to the students. It aims at creating quality engineers and committed leaders to the country. The college is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to the Kurukshetra University. It has also bagged the ISO 9001:2008 certification.

The college is located on the NH-73, around 25 km from Chandigarh and 18 km from Panchakula. The college is stretched over an area of 15 acres with lush gardens adding to the ambience in an effort to provide the students a peaceful and pollution-free environment. There are lots of placement opportunities for the students like the Nano Science City, IT Park of Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh. The industrial areas of Baddi, Ambala and Parwanoo, etc. are nearby.

The college offers BTech courses on Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Applied Science and Mechanical Engineering.

The applying candidates should have passed 12^th standard with 60% aggregate and also a valid AIEEE rank for entry into the Kurukshetra University. The age limit is more than 17 years. Admissions are open during the month of July 2010.

75% of the seats are filled up through the Haryana state Counseling Society through AIEEE marks and 25% seats are filled up through management quota. The candidates are required to fill up an online application form and submit.
