PMET 2010
PMET stands for Punjab Medical Entrance Test. This medical entrance test is conducted every year by the Baba Farid University of Medical Sciences. This entrance test acts as a single window for all the admissions to various medical courses available in the medical institutions affiliated to the Baba Farid University of Medical Sciences in the state of Punjab. You can apply for several courses at one go via the PMET. Those are
- Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (M.B.B.S)
- Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S)
- Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S) and
- Bachelor in Dental Surgery (B.D.S)
To appear in the PMET you need to pass your 10+2 examinations from a recognized institution or its equivalent. Moreover you need to be a regular student while passing the 10+2 examinations. Final year appearing students this year are also eligible to apply to appear in the entrance test.
Moreover you must have studied English as a compulsory subject during the 10+2 studies. Then your combination should have included Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Then in terms of age qualification you need to be at least 17 years of age on the 31st December of the corresponding year. But if you are a non-resident student of the state of Punjab then you won’t be able to appear in the PMET. Some kind of family link must be there with the state in order to get you qualified to appear in the PMET and subsequently study the above mentioned courses there.
