Research Fellow, IIT—Guwahati



There are some vacancies in the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. The posts are:

  • One post of Junior Research Fellow and
  • One post of Senior Research Fellow

The vacancies are for a project which is CSIR sponsored. The title of the Research Project is, “Studies on effect of small molecule compounds on folding and amyloid formation of proteins.” The vacancy is in the department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. Initially the contract will be valid for only one year but will be extended latter purely on the basis of the performance of the selected Research Fellow.

To apply for the Junior Research Fellow post you need to possess M.Sc./M.Tech/B.Tech in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biochemistry or any related subjects. Moreover the candidate must have obtained the degree with a minimum of 60% or its equivalent gradation. If the candidate has successfully cleared NET or GATE then he or she will be preferred. The age of the applicant should be less then 28 years as on 31st December, 2009.

To apply for the Senior Research Fellow post you need to possess M.Sc./M.Tech/B.Tech in Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biochemistry or any related subjects. Moreover the candidate must have obtained the degree with a minimum of 60% or its equivalent gradation. If the candidate has successfully cleared NET or GATE then he or she will be preferred. The age of the applicant should be less then 32 years as on 31st December, 2009. Two years of post qualification experience is necessary.
