Applications have been invited to fill up one post of Research Officer in the Western Ghats Secretariat, Planning Commission, New Delhi. The post is ex-cadre and on deputation basis, initially for a period of one year, which may be extended up to three years. The pay scale for the position will be PB-3: Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400 (pre revised scale of pay of Rs.8000-275-13500). The maximum age limit to apply for the post is 56 years. The period of deputation in any organization shall ordinarily not exceed three years. The joining will be immediately.

The educational qualification to apply for the post is Degree in Economics/ Statistics/Mathematics/Social Sciences with five years experience in the field of Planning. Officers of the Central/State Governments holding analogous post on regular basis may apply for the position. The Government workers should have five years experience on regular service in PB-2: Rs.9300-34080 + Grade Pay ranging Rs.4200 and Rs.4800 or equivalent.

After the selection the post requirement is to undertake selected evaluation studies and apply correctives in the Western Ghats Development Programme from time to time. The candidate holding the position has also to prepare reviews and conduct studies on various aspects of the programme.
