Shipping Industry is one of the biggest industries relating employment point of view. Shipping industry can be bifurcated into three segments providing several jobs in each segment. Three segments are as follows:

1. Shipping Companies: The first and foremost section is related to administration. In this regard, the segment is manned with the personnel who look after the logistics and all documentary requirements.

Nature of work:

Basically, the shipping companies operate in the following three ways:

· Linear trade: This type of trade allows the ship to move only on certain routes. The companies in this are well-equipped with numerous staff to perform the port operations. These staffs have liberty to make use of required equipment for loading and unloading the goods.

· Tramp trade: Brokers perform this tramp trade. They used to offer freight service to possible customers. This trading is completely done on the basis of future where cargo rates are fixed formerly for projected shipments.

· Captive fleet: The businessmen generally hold the entire control over this shipping operation. They have a department who is liable for the running of its fleet so that its cargo can be moved.
