Combined Medical Services Exam will be conducted by Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways, Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service, Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services, Medical Officers in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The examination will be conducted across the country on 18th Jan, 2009.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The candidate should be of less than 32 years of age as on 1st Jan, 2009
• The upper age limit for? candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category will be specified in the notice.
• The candidate should have got MBBS degree from any recognized University.
• The candidates currently in the final year of the MBBS are also eligible to apply lest they have to submit the proof of their passing before the specified date.

Important Dates:

• Last date for receipt of completely filled application forms : 6th Oct, 2009
• Last date for receipt of completely filled application forms for the students residing in abroad or remote areas : 13th Oct, 2009
• Date of commencement of Exam : 18th Jan, 2009

How to Apply:

• The candidate must apply in the Common Application Form which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Office/Post Offices at a payment of Rs.20
• The candidate should also pay a fee of Rs.100 through a single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp.
• The candidates belonging to SC/ST category are not required to pay any fee.
• The candidates belonging to OBC have to pay full fee.

Examination Pattern:

PART 1:

1. The examination will be of 500 marks.
2. Their will be two sections, each of 250 marks.
3. Duration of each exam will be 2 hours.
4. Their will be three sections in the exam:

• General Ability - 30 Questions
• General Medicine - 70 Questions
• Paediatrics - 20 Questions

PART 2:

1. This section is of Personality Test of the student.
2. This part will be of 100 marks.
3. There will be three sections in this part also:

• Surgery - 40 Questions
• Gynaecology & Obstetrics - 40 questions
• Preventive & Social Medicine - 40 questions
